Well, according to Wikipedia, “[t]he term, in its environmental usage, refers to the potential longevity of vital human ecological support systems, such as the planet’s climatic system, systems of agriculture, industry, forestry, fisheries, and the systems on which they depend.” ???
Let’s take that down a notch. Here, I’m not preaching about environmental sustainability, but personal sustainability. See, sustainability is really about maintaining a balance that encourages longevity and abundance. It starts with the self. The sum of its parts, however, is all about creating a wholesome life filled with integrity, love, compassion, commitment and character. I’m interested in YOUR sustainability, as well as the earth’s, because one cannot exist without the other. The trouble is, most people can identify what they need to do to help themselves, but have lots of trouble figuring out what they can do to help their environment. Hopefully this blog will give you a few ideas about how to simplify your lifestyle.
This blog is about simplicity, sustainability, health and betterment. We are not fractured beings, therefore I don’t believe that it’s necessary to create a bunch of “niche” blogs for each topic discussed here. More importantly, I think you are smart enough to distinguish between the articles that you want to read and those that you don’t. 
Oh, one more thing! I guess you’d like to know why this blog is called Urban Maverick? Well, a maverick is a person who lives life on their own terms and refuses to conform to mainstream pressures. In short, I believe that those of us who live in cities, surrounded by notions of ‘what life is,’ who choose to undertake the challenge of going against the grain to live in alignment with our true selves and in equilibrium with our environment are, in fact, Urban Mavericks.
